Help us raise dough to reach our goal!
We're asking for your generous support to help us raise $500,000 for our "Dough for the Decade" capital campaign.
celebrating 10 years on the north coast
Birthed from community conversations in 2011, we’ve changed the way the North Coast values the relationship between local food and healthy communities. Our first program, River People’s Farmers Market, was started because there wasn’t a place to purchase fresh, local produce using SNAP benefits (formerly food stamps).
Over the last decade, we've established a proven track record of filling "gaps" in our local food system through our work.
Today, our programs have evolved to include business support for beginning farmers and food producers, sliding scale commercial kitchen rental and a weekly online market that provides year round income to 40+ hyper-local food makers by serving over 80 customers weekly, regardless of their financial means.
We're proud of our first decade and looking forward to the next!

We've outgrown our current office, commercial kitchen and cold storage spaces. That means we can no longer make needed program expansions such as on-boarding new market vendors or adding program features like $1 for $1 SNAP matching, without further investment in our operations.
With funds raised from this campaign, our plan is to upgrade of facilities and expand our staff to scale up our Small Farms Market, kitchen rental, food access and other programming to be more equitable and impactful.

Funds raised will go toward the following:

-
New facilities costs
-
Moving costs
-
Updated commercial kitchen equipment
-
Updated office equipment
-
Hiring a kitchen coordinator to manage educational events and kitchen renters
-
First year operating expenses, including rent and utilities
-
Staff time for fundraising, planning and re-locating
-
Other new program development, including more incorporation of food access programming like SNAP $1 for $1 matching and expanded free delivery options for rural community members
-
Marketing and Outreach, specifically for low-income and rural community members
-
Insurance and legal fees
-
20% Contingency fund
